Brian Miyamoto (yes, Roy and Gladys Oyama’s granddaughter was here, too) of the state farm bureau brought his crew over from Honolulu and arranged to have Beatrice the Milking Cow and that John Deere-equipped keiki version of a barnyard shipped over, this year.
Congratulations, too, to the HMSA (the green pen was real handy for Blackout Bingo!) Happy Healthy Keiki parade winners — Analia Velasco, Nixon Gaspar, Ileana Furgeson, Jessa Sunada, Jaxen Sunada, Kaiana Buckinghim, Krysty Aiki, Kaiea Kelly, Declan Finnegan, and Ronan Salausa — on getting Walmart gift cards.
More kudos to Aidden Wilson-Rytting on edging out Chad Cabral in the Keiki Watermelon Eating Contest that used watermelons (they’re the same batch that went to the Kapaa schools for lunch) provided by Beck’s Hybrids (they even had that fancy popping corn — Sarah Thompson said it earned a blue ribbon, too — at the Ron Kouchi-sponsored booth manned by the National Hemophiliac Foundation, and who has their Kauai Challenge sticker on their water bottle per Ben Sullivan’s suggestion.
Dr. Kelly Robb of The Specific Chiropractic Center was juggling between getting people off on the scavenger hunt and tending to the twins (wait until they get old enough for the rides!), and Paul Brun (congrats on the champion orchid honor!) was busy on the air being interviewed by Marc Valentin (Ron Wiley was doing Blackout Bingo, Dickie Chang was spotted at the National Football League Rams and Cowboys game, and Ron Wood was busy with the Alzheimer’s Walk).
