LIHUE — A couple of items are on the agenda for Wednesday’s Planning Committee meeting.
The first is a brief update of the Kauai Tourism Strategic Plan 2019-2021 and what’s occurred, thus far, in its first year of implementation.
The plan, entitled “Refocusing Tourism to Find Balance,” centers on a number of strategies, including sustainable tourism, traffic and transit, natural and cultural environment, employee development, and communications.
The second item on the agenda is related to Bill No. 2756, which pertains to allowing family members the ability to request real property tax exemptions based upon their own eligibility, as long as no living relatives are on title. An overview of the billwill be presented.
An executive, closed-door, session regarding the hiring of a county auditor will follow.
The meeting starts at 8:30 a.m. at Council Chambers in the Historic County Building.
