The chance of precipitation is 20%. Tonight should see scattered showers, mostly cloudy, with a low around 73, with east winds around 9 mph. The chance of precipitation is 40%.
The NWS is predicting high humidity on Kauai, with heat index values as high as 96. The heat index reflects what it feels like when temperature and humidity are combined.
On Thursday, Lihue tied a record high of 89 degrees set in 2017.
The high pressure ridge north of the Hawaiian Islands is expected to weaken, with light trade winds forecast today and Monday. Expect increasing trade winds by the middle of this week, along with elevated humidity levels and some enhanced shower activity as two low-level troughs pass south of the state, the NWS reported.
