HONOLULU — The s Department of Labor & Industrial Relations said the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July was 2.8 percent, the same for the fifth consecutive month.
Kauai’s jobless rate was 2.7% in July, down from 3.1% in June and the same as in July 2018.
Statewide, 644,550 were employed and 18,350 unemployed in July for a total seasonally adjusted labor force of 662,900. Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.7 percent in July, the same as in June.
Initial claims and weeks claims both increased by 58, or 4.9% and 82 or 1.1% respectively, for unemployment benefits compared to one year ago.
Over-the-month initial claims decreased by 1.9%, while weeks claims grew by 3.1% last month.
