HGTV’s 2019 Ultimate House Hunt has searched the country’s most incredible and inspiring homes and has selected an overall winner on the North Shore of Kauai.
The television network’s popular, month-long promotion is held annually on HGTV.com. This year’s contest winner is a property known as Kohola Point, represented by Hawaii Life real estate professionals Ben Welborn and Tiffany Spencer. The Kauai home is currently listed for sale for $8.9 million.
“For 12 successful seasons, the Hawaii Life television series has appeared on the HGTV network. We are pleased that our listing has been chosen as a fan-favorite by HGTV’s audience,” said Matt Beall, CEO and principal broker at Hawaii Life.
The home at 4201 Anini Vista Drive is an impeccably crafted, contemporary oceanview estate nestled above Anini Beach.
The property was chosen by online voters as both the overall winner and as the winner in the Waterfront Homes category.
HGTV’s contest identifies exceptional homes for sale, and an overall winner is chosen by online voters, in addition to winners in eight additional sub-categories.
“Kohola Point is exquisitely designed and the location is nothing short of exceptional,” said Welborn, who grew up on Kauai.
“The sense of peace and privacy is profound, and the expansive views encompass towering, 50-foot waves, sunsets, rainbows, breaching whales, passing ships and a kaleidoscope of Mother Nature’s ever-changing moods. If I could pick any home for myself, I’d choose this one, hands down.”
The award-winning Kauai property features an infinity-edge pool and spa, four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and more than 4,000 square feet of indoor living area, plus an additional 2,000 square feet of outdoor living space with mature tropical landscaping, all situated on a 3.02-acre lot with sweeping ocean vistas from its cliff setting.
The home is a licensed vacation rental.
“We are thrilled Kohola Point is HGTV’s Ultimate Home,” said Spencer.
“Our partnership with HGTV and other luxury real estate affiliate networks has provided invaluable exposure for our clients and given us the opportunity to showcase island living at its finest,” she said.
For the eighth consecutive year, HGTV has aligned with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World and Luxury Portfolio International for the contest, conducted from June 12 through July 17. This year’s 92 finalists are represented by 46 real estate companies across the country.
Another home that absolutely no local people will ever move into. This is precisely why housing costs are exorbitant. And it won’t change anytime soon because the market is all about supply and demand.
not sure what your point is… are you suggesting that the owner of this property, who spent the millions to build, should have instead built a small cottage? what other rules would you like to see placed on private property?
