Kapaa medical clinic opens

WAIPOULI — Kauai Medical Clinic opened its new location at Kauai Village shopping center on Tuesday.

The new 7,900-square-foot clinic features 16 exam rooms, one procedure room, a triage room and a large waiting and reception area.

The eight-member staff and family medicine physician Dr. Tracey Richardson, who were at the previous Kapaa clinic at Kapaa Shopping Center, have relocated to the new facility. It also expanded to include additional staff and a new primary care physician, Dr. Sierra Peña, who recently joined Kauai Medical Clinic.

“Our new Kapaa clinic is nearly four times the size of the previous location, providing more space to support more patients,” said Jen H. Chahanovich, president and CEO of Wilcox Medical Center and CEO of Kauai Medical Clinic. “This aligns well with our mission to create a healthier Hawaii by providing greater access to medical care and services when and where our patients need it.”

The architect for the new clinic is Marc Ventura, and the general contractor is Shioi Construction.

A grand opening, blessing and open house will be held later this month.

The new Kapaa clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Services available include family medicine, visiting OB-GYN and cardiology specialists, and laboratory services provided by Clinical Labs of Hawaii.
