Edward L. Sarita passed away on July 2, 2019 at Straub Medical Center on Oahu.
He was born on Dec. 11, 1942.
He was retired as the manager of the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
He was preceded in death by parents Gaudencio and Salome Sarita and brother-in-law Gary Yoshida.
He is survived wife Charlene Sarita, daughter Kimberly (Walter) Sarita-Paresa, brothers Stephen Sarita and Dennis Sarita and sister Fay Yoshida.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 24, at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass to follow at 10 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire.
Emma Louise Robertson Sharrar
Emma Louise Roberetson Sharrar, 98, of Lawai, passed away after a brief illness on July 14, 2019.
She was born in Long Beach, California, in 1920, to Marguerite and John Robertson. She attended school there, and graduated from Long Beach Poly High School in 1938. She married Harvey Wesley Sharrar in 1939. The couple had three children: Michael Wesley (1941), James Bruce (1943), and Anne Elizabeth (1950).
They lived in Long Beach until 1968, when they moved to Huntington Beach, California. They settled in Lawai in June 2006.
After her husband’s passing in 2007, she continued her life in Lawai, and she volunteered her time and talent with the craft volunteers who support the National Tropical Botanical Gardens.
She was preceded in death by husband Harvey (d. 2007) and eldest son Michael (d. 2015).
She is survived by brother Donald of Napa, California, son James of Lawai, daughter and son-in-law Anne and Olegario of Lawai, granddaughter Marleny of Kalaheo, grandson Kent of Honolulu, granddaughter Michelle of Stockton, California, and great-grandsons Diego and Isaiah of Honolulu.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. The family suggests casual attire.
The family requests that any donations in her memory be directed to Kauai Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
