HONOLULU The former head of the Honolulu Ethics Commission has criticized the panel for ending an investigation into the citys former police chief and deputy prosecutor.
HONOLULU — The former head of the Honolulu Ethics Commission has criticized the panel for ending an investigation into the city’s former police chief and deputy prosecutor.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Thursday that Chuck Totto says the commission should not have ended an inquiry he was conducting into Louis and Katherine Kealoha.
The former Honolulu police chief and his wife who served as a top prosecutor were convicted last month of conspiracy and obstruction of justice.
Totto resigned as the commission’s executive director in June 2016 and says he was prevented from investigating what became the biggest corruption case in Oahu history.
Commission Chairwoman Victoria Marks says the decision to pull Totto was done out of an abundance of caution because the Kealohas had filed lawsuits and complaints.

Hey its not a secret that Hawaii’s current government from the Counties to State are all dirty rotten and corrupt to the core. Its not the first time HPD investigative unit has been derailed, during the investigation of white collar crime on then Mayor Jerremey Harris, that unit was disbanded by HPD higher management because they were getting too close in pulling the mayor’s pants down for all to see.
However when Mayor Jerremey Harris threaten to “spill the beans on everyone else”, then suddenly the investigation stopped. The only ones so far in getting convictions are non State agencies like the FBI and the only reason why both HPD chief Louis and his wife, former City prosecutor are being exposed as worst than common criminals.
The FBI should also investigate the present mayor Kirk Chadwell and his corrupt Rail cronies including Hanabusa. They should also investigate the State DOE for massive fraud, waste and abuse. I can now see why the FBI has that large building at Barbers Point, They will need allot of prison space to get all the crooks that infest Hawaii’s corrupt government.
Better yet, house these fat lazy obese parasites in hot tents, chain gangs since Barber Point is one of the hottest place on Oahu and make them do hard labor bare foot in the Kiawe trees, Serves them right for ripping off the taxpayers for so long
