Bethany an inspiration in new movie
If you’re looking for an inspirational movie, Waimea Theatre has “Unstoppable.” Hanalei’s superstar, Bethany Hamilton has a new documentary directed and produced by Aaron Lieber. It features actual footage of her life: zooming through the waves, paddling as a little girl, underwater in her wedding dress kissing her husband.
Unforgettable surfing scenes sizzled throughout the movie keeping old and young riveted. The Hamilton family sat in the front row of the theater, reminding us of the reality of the message Bethany has made famous: “I can hug more people with one arm than I ever could do with two before.”
Waimea Theatre will be playing the movie through Wednesday of this week. Tickets are $10.
Eleven-year-old Aiden Summers beamed after watching the movie, “It was the best movie I’ve ever saw.”
Indeed, with the theater packed with families. Bethany’s message poured into the ears of hundreds of children. Wise parents, when their children whined, “I can’t do it,” can say, “Remember Bethany.”
