Happy belated birthday to Ms. Hawaii United States Amanda Smith, who celebrated her birthday on July 4! She was so busy with engagements she missed out on the Kauai Hospice Concert in the Sky. But she broke away Saturday to help with the Back to School Bash (kudos to ALL the organizers its a good thing Mryvie Buster has a loud voice on a highly-successful event!) where she did a variety of chores, including helping distribute the free backpacks of school supplies.

Louisa Tanigawa (she’s everywhere!) used her hookups to spend the night on the Eastside so she could be sure Brandie Aguinaldo (she also volunteered at the Mayor-a-thon) could be on time to volunteer with the Wilcox Health crew at the Bash, where Nicole Cowan and her Big Brothers Big Sisters crew (they’ve got a big Mark’s Place “Perfect Pairings” shindig coming up Aug. 30 at the Kauai Marriott Resort &Beach Club, too!) were having fun alongside the Hawaii Children’s Theatre (they’ve got Rising Stars opening Thursday followed by “Frozen Jr” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!) volunteers.
Kudos to Brittany Noelani Brackenridge of Primerica (keiki ID stations can get very busy!) and Van Skoubis of Cool It (they were helping at the Kauai Hospice Concert in the Sky, too!) for joining the list of partners who help keiki get school supplies (Judy Cano said most of the supplies given away are on the schools’ lists), and coaches Mel and Marissa Purcell could even get their family to the event (there were a lot of Kauai Police Activities League flag-footballers who made it, too) despite hosting seven-a-side football at the Kauai High School field.
