Larry K. Tokuhara
Larry K. Tokuhara passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on June 16, 2019, at the age of 79. He was born on March 23, 1940, in Makawao, Maui. He was an electrician.
He was preceded in death by parents Isamu and Masayo Tokuhara and brother Jimmy Tokuhara.
He is survived by wife Patricia Tokuhara of Kapaa, sons Larry Tokuhara Jr. of Honolulu and Kevin Tokuhara of Kapaa, daughter Carrie Sumie, hanai sons Lloyd Chow of Lihue, Kamu Van Gieson of Kapaa and Lew Asai of Oregon, daughter Leeann Tokuhara of Honolulu, one grandchild, brother Harry (Sandy) Tokuhara of Honolulu, sisters Jane (Stanley) Yagi of Honolulu, and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 6, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation with family is from noon to 1 p.m., with service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. The family suggests aloha attire and welcomes flowers.

Francisco Mendoza Visitacion
Francisco Mendoza Visitacion passed away at his residence in Eleele on June 2, 2019, at the age of 77. He was born on Nov. 4, 1941, in Makaweli, and was a retired maintenance building supervisor.
He was preceded in death by parents Modesto F. and Elena M. Visitacion, sister Maria Visitacion, and brother Irenio Visitacion.
He is survived by sisters Sarah (George) Paiste of Kekaha and Esther (Placido) Espino of Makakilo, Oahu, brothers Alfred (Lourdes) Visitacion of Sacramento, California, Jaime (Carol) Visitacion of Fresno, California, John (Brenda) Visitacion of Eleele, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 13, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery pavilion, with visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. and a celebration of life at 10 a.m. Burial will follow.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary Day Wilson
Mary Day Wilson, 92, of Kapaa, died peacefully Monday evening, June 10, 2019, at Garden Isle Healthcare.
She was born in Honolulu on Nov. 12, 1926, granddaughter of early merchant C.J. Day, who came to Hawaii in 1892 on an apprenticeship and later operated a store on Fort Street from 1903 through 1943 specializing in English fancy foods.
Born in Kalihi, she moved with her family to Manoa in 1936. She attended Hanahau‘oli kindergarten and then Punahou School, graduating in the Class of 1944. She attended the University of Oregon, where she graduated in 1948.
When she returned from college, she went to work at First Hawaiian Bank. She met her husband Robert F. Wilson in 1950, and they were married in 1952. In 1961 they moved to Kauai, and remained married for 58 years before Robert passed away in 2010.
She was a substitute teacher at Wilcox Elementary and Koloa schools for 22 years. She was also very active with her sons in the 4-H agricultural program, raising cattle, pigs and other animals for market and home.
She was an active member of All Saints Church in Kapaa, and served with and volunteered her time to many nonprofit causes. She especially loved to cook, and was very proud of her mango chutney, which was always one of the first items to sell out at various bake sales.
In her later years, she was a guide and office assistant at Grove Farm Sugar Plantation Museum, and also a trustee.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Colin and Nancy Wilson, son and daughter-in-law Steven and Katrina Wilson, son and daughter-in-law Richard and Susan Wilson, grandchildren Christen, Cassie, Jessica, Alana, Sean, Luke and Chloe, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 29, at All Saints Church in Kapaa, from 10 a.m., with services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Nu‘uanu Cemetery on Oahu at a later date.
Laurence Eugene Schwartz
Laurence Eugene Schwartz, 80, of Princeville, passed away on June 17, 2019, at home. He was a retired art salesman.
He was preceded in death by parents Abraham and Therese Schwartz.
He is survived by partner Phyllis Maria Schwartz, daughter Lee Anna (David) Botkin, sons Jesse (Jennifer) Schwartz and Joseph “Koa” (Angela) Schwartz, and seven grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Penny Tomioka Daily
Penny Tomioka Daily, 52, of Shoreline, Washington, formerly of Kauai, passed away on May 26, 2019.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1966.
She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley Sr. and Eleanor Tomioka.
She is survived by husband Scott and daughter Katherine of Shoreline, Washington, brothers Nathan and Stanley Jr. of Kauai, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held in Shoreline, Washington.
