Richard Cummings Kaui Sr.
Richard Cummings Kaui Sr., of Keahapana Valley, passed away at the age of 77, on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Pali Momi Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 11, 1941, on Kauai. He retired as a District Road Overseer (DRO II), stationed at Hanalei Baseyard after 33 years with the County of Kauai Public Works Division.

(Brian) Kaui-Baligad of Wailua Homesteads, Christy L.P. Kaui of Forest Grove, Oregon, Randolph “Randy” Kalihilihiokala (Erin) Kaui of Bellingham, Washington, Richard “Ricky” Kaui (Luci), Jr. of Keahapana Valley, Scott Kalani (Aulani) Kaui, Sr. of Keahapana Valley, Sharolyn “Mele” Maliana Kaui of Keahapana, Kunia, Oahu; grandchildren, Kaleinani Fumiyo Kaui, Kevin Keala Kaui Sr., Krystal Kini Kaui, Ryan Keola Kaui, Nicole Pa’aikanoemakamailani Moore, Calvin Justin Griffin, Clemont Devern Griffin, Reginald Kenard Griffin, James Corey Griffin, Bryson Keli’i Baligad, Brandi Kanani Baligad, Sherice Kealalani Almazan, Shaun Kekoa Almazan, Kamalulokelani J. Kaui, Carolyn Keli’ikapaole Kaui, Creighton Kalihilihiokala Kaui, Brittany Mahealani Kaui, Scott Kalani Kaui, Jr., Richard Wayne Kaulana Kaui, Kalia Kanoelani Kaui, Aulani Leipuamakamae Kaui, Maliana Ka’iulani Kaui; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister Irene Miyashiro of Kapahi; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers.
Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Kapaa) on Saturday, June 29, 2019. A public viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Chapel services will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. There will be a burial to follow at the Kaui Family cemetery in Keahapana Valley and a Luau to follow in Keahapana Valley.
Nuuanu Mortuary and Garden Island Mortuary are assisting the family with arrangements.
David Koerte, Jr.
David Koerte, Jr. passed away In Lihue, on June 6, 2019, at the age of 82. He was born on Sept. 20, 1936, in Lihue. He was a retired supervisor electrician for Lihue Plantation.
Preceded in death by father David Koerte, Sr.; mother Conception Medina; sister Jeanette Koerte; brother-in-law Louis Pontes.
He is survived by his wife Marlow Koerte of Kapaa; sons, David Koerte, III of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael (Lu) Koerte of Kekaha, Davin (Blazey) Koerte of Kapaa; step-daughter Tina Silva; grandchildren, Danielle Koerte, David Koerte IV, Summer Silva, Kekoa Quirantes, Gigi Guillermo, Saige Silva, Ui Costales, Michael K. Koerte, Tia Koerte, Cassandra Koerte, Michelle Enele; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Rose (Jose) Castillo of El Paso, Texas, Eleanor Pontes, Kalaheo.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Lihue First Church (behind King Auto Center) with viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and a celebration of life from 10:30 a.m. to noon. There will be an Inurnment to follow at Hanapepe Veteran’s Cemetery, 2:30 to 3 p.m. and a lunch to follow at Hanapepe Tennis Court Pavilion. Family suggest casual attire. Please omit flowers.

Doris ‘Dolores’ M. McKenna
Doris “Dolores” M. McKenna was born on March 6, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa. She moved to Kauai in 1976 where she resided until she passed peacefully on June 1, 2019, at the age of 94. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Patrick (Diane) McKenna of Arroyo Grande, California, Timothy (Cathy) McKenna of Kekaha, Dennis McKenna of Nipomo, California; daughters, Peggy (Gary) Yatsuoka of Waimea, Sheila (Alfred) Ringor of Puhi; hanai daughter Cindy Foresee of Shell Beach, California; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waimea, with visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
There will be a burial to follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery. Family suggests casual attire.

Evangeline A.K. Duclayan
Evangeline A.K. Duclayan passed away on May 23, 2019.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leon Duclayan.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Clarissa) Duclayan, Laura-Mae Duclayan, Lisa-Ann (Mariano Vergador Jr) Duclayan, Lei-Ann (Fred Otsuka) Duclayan, Larissa (A. Robert) Ganiron, Laurena (Jeffrey) Burigsay; brother Vance “Maka” Apolo; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; members of her Kauai family: Banasihan, Stevenson, and Newall.
A wake will be held on July 2, 2019, at the Makai Chapel in the Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe at 5:30 p.m. A funeral Mass service will take place on July 3, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Church, in Ewa Beach at 9 a.m. There will be a burial to follow at the Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe at 1 p.m. and a lunch at the Makai Dining Lanai from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Wayne Perreira Sr.
Ronald “Ronnie” Perreira Sr. passed away at his residence in Kalaheo, on June 10, 2019, at the age of 72. He was born on Jan. 2, 1947, on Kauai. Ronnie served in the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduating high school, from 1965 to 1969. After the service; he was a truck driver for Hale Kauai Trucking Company who eventually changed the company to Jas. W. Glover, LTD.
He is preceded in death by his son Ronald “Ronnie Boy” Wayne Perreira Jr. and his father George Perreira Sr.
He is survived by wife Valerie Perreira of Kalaheo; mother Hilda Perreira; son Greg (Kelly) Perreira of Kalaheo, Jason Perreira of Kalaheo; grandchildren, Kiley (Tiana Kojiri) Perreira, Brennan Perreira, Pualilia Perreira, Brigg Perreira, Gianni (Mark Serrano) Perreira-Serrano, Gheymee Perreira, Rhyder Kupo-Perreira; great-grandchildren Kolten Kojiri-Perreira; brothers, George (Charmaine Wong) Perreira Jr of Kalaheo, Michael (Michelle) Perreira of Kalaheo, Tommy Perreira of Kalaheo; sisters, Loretta (Walter Ritte) of Moloka’i, Kris (Wilmar) Sagucio of Kalaheo; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date. Family suggests casual attire.

Edith R. Pavao
Edith R. Pavao passed away at Hale Kupuna on June 13, 2019, at the age 96. She was born on April 12, 1923, in Kalaheo. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Pavao; son Rodney Wayne Pavao.
She is survived by son Roy Pavao (Laura) of Selmer, Tennessee; daughter, Cecilia Barriga of Lawai; Charlene Halby (Anthony) of Grass Valley, California; Patricia Pavao of Wailuku; Pamela Damasco of Kahului; 20 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo from 9 to 10 a.m, with eulogy and prayer to follow. Burial will be at Kekaha Public Cemetery following services.

Samuel James ‘Lawrence’ Araneta
Samuel James “Lawrence” Araneta, of Kapaa, passed away on May 10, 2019, in Lihue. He was a roofer, a boxer and a musician born on Oct. 21, 1946, and was 72 years old.
He was preceded in death by father Cruz Gobrino Araneta; mother Candaladia “Emma” Vera Cruz; brothers, Jose, Mac, Phillip, Ralph and Claudio Hilacion, Albert “Beto” Araneta; sister Eleanor Borilez.
He is survived by son Samuel J. Araneta Jr.; daughters, Celena (Sione) Taufatofua, Sheleah (Piukala) Masi; ex-wife and lifelong friend Maureen Latuniupulu; brother Alfonso Hilacion; sister Virginia Waiwaiole; grandchildren, Ueili (Erica) Taufatofua, Melaea Taufatofua, Lena-Mae Taufatofua, Latanoa Taufatofua, Lilio Masi, Mosese Masi, Soane Latuniupulu, Paul Latuniupulu; great-grandchildren, Teili Taufatofua, Isaleilia Taufatofua; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit the family at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary, in Koloa, on Saturday, June 29, 2019, with visitation at 9 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kapaa Public Cemetery.

Neil Kalani Sadora
Neil Kalani Sadora passed away on May 18, 2019, in Sacramento, California. He was born on Feb. 18, 1970, in Lihue. Kalani loved to cook and was employed at various eating establishments in Hawaii and California.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Loreto and Maxima Sadorra and maternal grandparents Eusebio and Estephania Afaga.
He is survived by parents Greg and Goni Sadora; brother Greg (Nani) Sadora; sisters, Cheryl (Glenn) Belisle, Stephanie (Stacy) Iwasaki; nieces, Shaunte Sadora, Shyanne Sadora; nephews Kaiea Iwasaki, Kanoa Iwasaki, Keala Iwasaki, Skyler Sadora; numerous uncles, aunties, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on June 22, 2019, with visitation at 8 to 9:45 a.m., services at 10 a.m. Leis are welcome.
