Happy anniversary to Lauren Guest and Matthew Duncan! Lauren was busy helping Hanamaulu residents with filling out surveys for the improvements to Laukona Park when it dawned on her that it was her anniversary.

Kudos to Lee Steinmetz (he got a lot of help from the Kauai Junior Youth Squad, the county, Tommy Noyes and the state Department of Health — great breakfast!) on hosting the scoping meeting that took place before the basketball courts got busy…too bad Bev Brody was getting ready for the Mayor-a-thon (it comes Saturday morning, early!). She missed the fun.
Mahalo to Mark Jeffers of The Storybook Theatre (how many of you saw the red lilikoi that’s in bloom now?) on bringing over Tristan David, Tristan Graham and Cindy Claudia of the Hawaii Island Community Circus Unity Project from Puna for a series of Father’s Day excitement. That Friday Night Art Walk performance was great. How many missed the bon dance at the West Kauai Hongwanji, Hanapepe Temple for the show? The audience overflowed onto the main drag in Hanapepe. The Kahului (they’re from Maui!) basketball team just finished team dinner at Bobbie’s!
With the attention focused on the Hiccup circus, who knew Evelyn Roth (she’s going aloha Tuesday!) was putting the finishing touches on the baby orca in the upstairs of The Storybook Theatre?
Welcome to the ohana, Priscilla Hurd (she’s good friends with Johnny and Terry Gordines!) who was substituting as a greeter at the Kauai Community Market for the Kauai County Farm Bureau. Priscilla (she’s a Kapaa High School alum!) said she’s back with her keiki and will be “substituting” Wednesday at the Kauai Culinary Market at The Shops at Kukuiula. Mango soup from the Soup Girls, anyone?
