Alan Gerardo
Alan Gerardo was born on June 15, 1958, in Lihue. He passed away peacefully in his home in Ridgecrest, California, at age 60, on Feb. 2, 2019.
He served in the U.S. Navy and also worked for the Navy as a civil servant. He retired after 24 years.
He was preceded in death by parents James and Mary Gerardo and sisters Marylyn Gerardo and Kathy Louis.
He is survived by wife Marites Gerardo, children Kari Momi (Bryan Rapsholdt) Gerardo, Lori (Zef Perales) Long, Christine (Joven) Haramura, Sophia Dame and Brian Dame, grandchildren James, Jordyn, Jaylin, Chimera, Serenity and Jareth, siblings Joyce (Terry) Daligdig, James K. Gerardo, Alison (Clayton) Silva, Brenda (Rey) Coloma and Brian (Shanell) Gerardo Sr., brothers-in-law Mathew Louis Sr. and Jerry Aquias, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services, including military rites, were held at St. Ann Church in Ridgecrest, California, on Feb. 16.
A celebration of life with prayer service is Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m. at Hanamaulu Beach Park.
The family requests no wreaths, sprays or bouquets, and will accept lei and loose flowers.
Stephen Gomes Sr.
Stephen Gomes Sr. of Omao passed away on June 11, 2019, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1936.
He was a retired irrigation supervisor for Lihue Plantation Company.
He is survived by significant other Sally Dizon, sons Stephen (Denise) Gomes Jr. of Seattle, Avery Gomes of Texas and Sean Dizon of Kauai, daughters Lavonne (Tracie) Millett of Sequim, Washington, Suelyn (Ron) Gomes-Tuff of Reno, Nevada, grandchildren Micah Gomes and Ashley Timbreze, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 14, at Garden Island Mortuary, with visitation from 11 a.m. to noon and services at noon.
The family suggests aloha attire.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
