HAGATNA, Guam — A majority of female senators on Guam did not respond to a newspaper’s questions about their positions on abortion, a report said.
By the end of Wednesday only three of 10 female lawmakers responded to questions put to them Tuesday by Pacific Daily News, the newspaper reported Wednesday.
Guam law allows abortions up to 13 weeks, but there has not been a physician who offers the procedure on the island since last year.
The newspaper asked the lawmakers for their “stance on abortions” and, if they consider themselves to be pro-abortion rights, whether they are working toward changing Guam’s current lack of an abortion provider.
Only Guam Senators Régine Biscoe Lee and Amanda Shelton, both Democrats, and Republican Louise Muna, provided responses.
“I believe that life begins at the moment of conception and human life is sacred,” Muna said.
“I’m not pro-choice because I hate life or believe in abortion; I’m pro-choice because I know that decision is hard enough,” Biscoe Lee said.
“The right to life is the first human right and that means we must support women with all the resources we can provide to ensure a healthy pregnancy and a loving home for the child,” Shelton said.
Protesters plan a rally Friday at the governor’s office to demonstrate against a plan by Democratic Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero’s to find a doctor willing to provide abortions on the island.
In a statement, the Archdiocese of Agana urged “the Catholic faithful throughout our island to respect life from conception to natural death and to be courageous in our defense of innocent babies.”
Give me a break, why should men even be considered valid to make these types of abortion decisions when its the women who carries both the burden of delivering the baby and the Psyche consequences of aborting the fetus due to various reasons that men has no idea how to deal with such issues?
The Catholic Vatican is full of disfunctional male priests whose primary mission appears to be either a pedophile priest or ensuring these perverted “men of the holy cloth” are protected and remain on the payroll, I think the primary reason why the Vatican is against abortion, is because of the potential of more $$$$$ profits, since an aborted fetus will not bring forth as much money to the Vatican coffers to support pedophile priests if the fetus was forced to mature into an adult.
Simply put, the Vatican is more interested in making $$$ money than about women’s rights. Well, you can make one exception in the case of that psychopath nun MotherTeressa who lied to expectant Indian mothers saying their had still birth, but were actually quite healthy and sold thousands of so called “still birth” babies to European couples generating $billions that went into the Vatican coffers that was the primary reason why the Bishops voted to make mother Teressa and Saint!
Money talks and the Vatican listens to the chime of $$$$ all the time. Even the current Pope does not believe in god, but he won’t admit it in public
