William Badua
William Badua passed away at his residence in Lihue on May 2, 2019, at the age of 91. He was born on Jan. 29, 1924, in Waimea.
He was preceded in death by wife Mabel Keike Badua, sons Leonard Badua and Milton Badua, and grandson Brian Badua.
He is survived by sons William Val (Debra) Badua of Hanapepe, daughters Stella (Aaron) Ho‘okano of Honolulu and Michelle San Nicolas of Yona, Guam, grandchildren Joseph (Erica) Gagne, Janette Dela (Sebastian) Concepcion, Keone (Amalia) Badua, Aukai (Vicky) Badua, Gabrielle (Daniel) Del Toro, Christopher San Nicolas, Jason Pettite, Nalukai Ho‘okano, Andrew Manibusan, Vincent Badua and Amabelle Manibusan, hanai granddaughter Cheryl (Dave) Sundlov, great-grandchildren Alohilani Gagne, Tyler Badua, Nolan Waiola Del Toro, Isaac Kupa‘a Del Toro, Isaiah Dela Concepcion, Charlie Paige Badua, Sanoe Del Toro, Haweo Del Toro, Hunter Dela Concepcion and Brynn Scott Badua, brother Wayne (Lilian) Badua of Waimea, sisters Anita Edwards of Honolulu and Edna Bayot of Waimea, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be holding private services at a later date.

Stanley Amorin Sr.
Stanley Amorin Sr. passed away on April 10, 2019, at his home in Lihue. Born on April 3, 1930, in Lihue, he was a mechanic with Lihue Plantation.
He was preceded in death by wife Consuelo “Connie” Amorin, son Patrick Amorin, parents Virgin and Sophie Amorin, and brothers Donald Amorin and Gerald (Gerry) Amorin.
He is survived by sons Stanley (Connie) Amorin Jr. of Lihue and David (Terilyn) Amorin of Lihue, daughters Phyllis Amorin of Lihue, Rochelle (Leroy) Vandergalien of Wisconsin and Christine (Wilber) Villanueva of Eleele, 10 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 8, at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow.
The family suggests casual attire.

Shigeno Kuboyama
Shigeno Kuboyama passed away on May 11, 2019, at the age of 92. She was born on Oct. 27, 1926, and was a produce clerk at Kauai Producers.
She is survived by sons Sam (Jean) Kuboyama of Waipahu and Dean (Gayle) Kuboyama of Kapaa, daughter Lynn Kuboyama (Jerry Kabazawa) of Lihue, grandchildren Kristen Kuboyama, Kara Dias, Chad and Evan Kuboyama and Kelsey Kabazawa, great-grandchildren Cy Kuboyama-Hayashi, Chayne Kuboyama-Hayashi, Adrian Dias Jr., Noah and Eli Dias and Jake Colt, and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.

James Arcibal Macadamia
James Arcibal Macadamia, 62, of Kapaa, passed away on May 15, 2019, at his home. He was born in the Philippines on Nov. 9, 1956.
He was preceded in death by mother Cecilia Macadamia.
He is survived by wife Laurie Macadamia, father Daniel (Edna) Macadamia, brothers Daniel (Beverely) Macadamia and Romeo (Cresencia) Macadamia, sisters Celda (Dave) Nicastro and Lilybeth Macadamia, daughters Jennifer (Xavier Chatman) Macadamia, Julie (Keli‘i) Nahalea, Natalie Macadamia, Patricia (Bernard Davis) Macadamia and Katherine (Steve) Udaundo, son Jameson (Leslie Agno) Macadamia, 11 grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue, with visitation at 9 a.m. and services at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home.

Susan Lanette Uchida
Susan Lanette Uchida, 76, of Lihue, passed away on May 14, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center. She was born in Modesto, California, on Oct. 23, 1942, and retired as a teacher with the University of Hawaii’s Kauai Community College after 34 years. In 2008 the UH Board of Regents approved the title Emeritus Professor for her.
She was preceded in death by parents Edwin and Betty Hoatson.
She is survived by husband Alvin Uchida, brother Mark (Phyllis) Hoatson and sister Jennifer Hoatson, both of California, and nephew Jeffery Hoatson.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Richard Cummings Kaui Sr.
Richard Cummings Kaui Sr. of Keahapana Valley passed away at the age of 77 on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Pali Momi Medical Center on Oahu, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 11, 1941, on Kauai.
He retired as a district road overseer, stationed at Hanalei baseyard, after 33 years with the County of Kauai Department of Public Works.
He is survived by wife Jane L. Kaui, children Daniel Pohaku (Rochelle) Kaui of Kapahulu, Oahu, Joanne Katherine Griffin of Dallas, Pamela S.K. (Brian) Kaui-Baligad of Wailua Homesteads, Christy L.P. Kaui of Forest Grove, Oregon, Randolph “Randy” Kalihilihiokala (Erin) Kaui of Bellingham, Washington, Richard “Ricky” (Luci) Kaui Jr. of Keahapana Valley, Scott Kalani (Aulani) Kaui Sr. of Keahapana Valley, and Sharolyn “Mele” Maliana Kaui of Kunia, Oahu, grandchildren Kaleinani Fumiyo Kaui, Kevin Keala Kaui Sr., Krystal Kini Kaui, Ryan Keola Kaui, Nicole Pa‘aikanoemakamailani Moore, Calvin Justin Griffin, Clemont Devern Griffin, Reginald Kenard Griffin, James Corey Griffin, Bryson Keli‘i Baligad, Brandi Kanani Baligad, Sherice Kealalani Almazan, Shaun Kekoa Almazan, Kamalulokelani J. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kapaa Ward on Saturday, June 29, with public viewing from 9 to 11 a.m., and chapel services from 11 a.m. to noon.
Burial will to follow at the Kaui tamily cemetery in Keahapana Valley, and a luau will follow the burial, also in Keahapana Valley.

Carl Albert Thomas
Carl Albert Thomas passed away in Anahola on May 24, 2019, at the age of 65. He was born on Dec. 5, 1953, in Honolulu. He was a bartender.
He was preceded in death by parents Sonny and Dorothy Thomas.
He is survived by daughter Dana (Keone) Miyake of Anahola, grandchildren Malia Miyake, Maile Miyake and Nainoa Miyake, brother Lawrence “Larry” B. Thomas of Waimanalo, Oahu, sisters Lani (Mark) Teves of Kailua, Oahu, Linda (Miko) Villanueva of Kailua, Oahu, and Donna (Noe) Morrison of San Leandro, California, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Friday, June 7, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kapaa Ward from 10 to 11 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire.
A scattering of his ashes will be at Kailua Beach, Oahu, on Monday, Aug. 19.
