Mom has always been there
Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get. There are the negatives and the positives, but I have realized that when things are bad, that’s when we learn most of our life lessons. These life lessons gave me the opportunity to grow as an individual.
By our sides through these times are the ones who support and love us through it all. I like to call those special people “my biggest fans.”
My biggest fan would have to be my mom. She has been there through the good and bad times, through all my wrongs and rights, constantly trying to keep me on track and lead me in the right direction. She has taught me to take my time and look at my situation with a clear mind and perspective to make the right decision in a sticky situation. Without her I don’t know where I would even be. She has shaped me into the person I am today, and I will forever be grateful.

Hirono shouldn’t push views in classrooms
I believe it’s time we should impeach Crazie Mazie. After hearing Mazie Hirono’s comments on abortion to eighth-graders and other crazy comments she continues to make at the national level, I believe she’s not in her right mind and she is not representing a lot of the people of Hawaii.
It looks to me she is spending so much of her time hating President Trump and spreading this hate all the way down to even eighth-graders. Why would you think it’s proud to promote to 13-year-olds it’s OK to kill a baby in the womb? Please, Mazie, stay out of my children’s class.

Many questions regarding North Shore school
This is in response to Mr. Snowden’s letter (Forum, May 29), in that I suggest you do a little more research before you hit the send button. In your letter you state that “kids that live in Hanalei have to go to Kapaa Elementary School and Kapaa High School?” Did you mean Kapaa Middle School?
Hanalei has an elementary school that’s been open since 1926. Didn’t they already try this venture with Kula Intermediate and High School awhile back? Near Pila‘a and Moloa‘a, it fell to the wayside. And, by the way, where would this money for the school come from? And if there’s money available, why not use it to improve the schools we already have?

Why am I not surprised Mr Garza think’s a senator can be impeached ?? Clearly you know about as much about the political process as our present dimwitted leader. Don’t want an abortion… don’t get one. Mazie Hirono was elected by a majority of voters so your opinion is in the minority
Crazie Mazie? I know a lot of eighth-graders who have already advanced beyond the name-calling phase, plus they know how to spell “crazy”. Mr. Garza, when you have done even one-hundredth of what Mazie has done for the good of this state and this country, then a letter like the one you wrote might (or might not) be taken a bit more seriously.
