Congratulations to Tina Albao (shes the general, said Paddy Kauhane, the Boys &Girls Club Hawaii president and CEO), Milani Pimental (even Stephen Spears found time to break away from office duty), and all those volunteers (they were from everywhere!) who came out and did a lot of work to get the Boys &Girls Club Lihue clubhouse upgraded Thursday.
Congratulations to Tina Albao (she’s the general, said Paddy Kauhane, the Boys &Girls Club Hawaii president and CEO), Milani Pimental (even Stephen Spears found time to break away from office duty), and all those volunteers (they were from everywhere!) who came out and did a lot of work to get the Boys &Girls Club Lihue clubhouse upgraded Thursday.
Kudos to the Wailua Shave Ice crew for knowing the answer to the near-record-breaking heat, and what a treat to see the Boys &Girls Club dancers do their thing to thank the volunteers.
Mahalo to Nicole Johnson of the Pure Foundation, Kevin Delane and Edward Perotti (did someone say he’s from the Big Island?) on the $10,000 award to Kauai Habitat for Humanity — Milani was thrilled because the award was just what was needed to cap their fundraising drive.
Bryden Ka‘auwai wanted to be part of the excitement, but had to settle for after school because it’s finals time (school’s almost over, and Melissa McFerrin-Warrack is already stirring up this year’s Back to School Bash that comes up in July!).
Kudos to Milani and crew, too, for celebrating the key-passing for 17 home owners Friday afternoon at the Hanapepe Recreation Center. Eleele Iluna is growing! How many more for this year?
Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami broke away early from the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital bon dance to attend the mahalo banquet for the Pure Storage ohana for the work they did that will make a lasting impression for the community!
