More than 2,000 walkers banded together to raise a record $442,000 during the 2019 Kauai Visitor Industry Charity Walk, centered around the Vidinha Stadium fields.
Helping with the excitement of an early-morning trek around a three-mile loop through Lihue, walkers could indulge in other activities like the first Rubbah Slippah Drop presented by Hawaii USA Credit Union, which tempted participants with the incentive of a Las Vegas trip for the person whose slipper landed in or closest to a bucket.
Nonprofit groups who benefit from the walk proceeds offered activities, lending to a breakfast with foods from 11 vendors.
Proceeds benefit at least 60 nonprofits that provide services to Kauai. All money raised here stays here.
