Tsuneko ‘Sue’ Ono
Tsuneko “Sue” Ono, 94, of Lihue, passed away on March 21, 2019.
She was born on July 1, 1924, in Waimea.
She was preceded in death by husband Champ S. Ono, and brothers Robert Tamaribuchi, George Tamaribuchi and Kay Tamaribuchi.
She is survived by son Mark (Darcy Attisani) Ono of Kapaa, daughters Marianne (Robert) Susinetti of Lihue, Annabel (Kurtis) Saiki of Kaunakakai, Kathleen (David Foord) Ventimiglia of Monterey, California, grandchildren Kristine (Juan) Cornejo, Kaleo Saiki, Katie-Ann (Jr.) Bumanglag, Kyle Saiki, Kellie (Michael) Ventimilia-Vicent, Stephen Ventimilia, Lee (Weezy) Iboshi, Ronn (Les) Iboshi and Lana Bilbo, 10 great-grandchildren, brother Kinney Tamaribuchi of Lihue, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 4, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, with visitation from 9:30 a.m., and services to begin at 10 a.m., followed by inurnment and fellowship.
The family requests casual attire, and that no koden (monetary offerings) be given.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Patricia Ann Carvalho Kuali‘i
Patricia Ann Carvalho Kuali‘i, 79, of Puhi, passed away at home on April 30, 2019. She was born in Lihue on March 17, 1940, and retired as a cafeteria manager with Ae Kamali‘i and Immaculate Conception School.
She was preceded in death by parents Ernest and Clarissa Carvalho and sister Audrey Mae Carvalho.
She is survived by husband Wilfred Kuali‘i III, children Sandra Mae Hokulani (Alan Yamashiro) Kuali‘i, Debra Jean Ualani (Ron Silva) Kuali‘i, KipuKai Leslie Patrick (Joe Carrillo) Kuali‘i, Alan Brian Pono (Tiana Pangan) Kuali‘i, Kurt Kalani (Michele) Kuali‘i and Kris Kawika (Kaina) Lovell Kuali‘i, grandchildren Penny Tomacder, Jackie “Malia” Tomacder, Tanya Tomacder, Brian Kuali‘i, Brysen Kuali‘i, Leann Nobriga, Lance Nobriga, Laci Nobriga, Kori Ann Kuali‘i, Megan Kuali‘i, Elijah Kuali‘i, Ariannah Kuali‘i and Lukela Kuali‘i, several great-grandchildren, brothers James (JoAnn) Carvalho Sr. and Robert Carvalho, sisters Sharon (Michael) Blackstad, Val McGurn, Marcia Jimenez and Betty (Sonny) Ibaan, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 23, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
