LIHUE — The Department of Human Services is helping families better afford preschool for the 2019-2020 school year.
The Preschool Open Doors program opened an additional application period that runs until May 31.
To qualify, children must be eligible to enter kindergarten in the 2020-2021 school year (born between Aug. 1, 2014 and July 31, 2015).
POD serves more than 1,500 children statewide and provides subsidies to eligible families to help pay preschool tuition.
