Ernesto Paden
Ernesto Paden, 85, of Koloa, passed away on March 28, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on April 6, 1933, in Koloa, he retired as a rock crusher operator with Grove Farm Rock Company.
He was preceded in death by parents Donato and Margarita Paden, brothers Margarito, Constancio and Carlito Paden, and sisters Emilia LaPuente, Lucia Alcares and Florencia Lewis.
He is survived by wife Rosita “Rose” Paden of Koloa, son Ernie Darin (Charlene) Paden of Lawai, daughters Norine Ann Chatterjee of Koloa and Lorine Melissa Paden of Koloa, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Sofea Cagalawan, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 4, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Raphael’s Church cemetery in Koloa.
The family suggests casual attire.

Torao Kashima
Torao Kashima, 90, of Lihue, passed away on April 9, 2019, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home in Omao.
Born on June 20, 1928 at Huleia, he was a retired fabrication lead man for Grove Farm Company.
He is survived by wife Dixie-Lee Kashima of Lihue, sons Myron Kashima of Lihue, Rory (Cheryl) Kashima of Lihue, Darren (Kristie) Kashima of Lihue and Teddi (Nita) Kashima of Lihue, daughters Clarice Shimatsu of Lihue, Tanya (David) Sakihama of Kapaa, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Katherine McHelly
Katherine McHelly, 84, of Lihue, passed away on April 23, 2019 at her home. Born on July 2, 1934 on Kauai, retired as an executive secretary.
She is survived by sons Mark McHelly and David (Kelly) McHelly, daughters Julie (David) Miyasaki and Shelly (Dwight) Lee, mother Tsutao Misae Sato, brother Harold Sato, sisters Elaine Rindal, Karen (James) Tamaye and Charmaine Sato, numerous grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Friend may visit with the family on Friday, May 24, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 5:30 p.m., where services will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m.
