Fred Nares Quiroz
Fred Nares Quiroz, 70, of Kalaheo, passed away on March 1, 2019 at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on April 27, 1948, in Oceanside, California, he worked in the construction industry and also as a security guard on Kauai before he retired.
He was preceded in death by parents Damaso and Mary Quiroz, brother Charlie Quiroz, brother-in-law Guy Myslivy, and sister-in-law Janice Mareko.
He is survived by wife Cynthia “Cindy” Myslivy Quiroz of Kalaheo, sons Casildo J. (Natalie) Quiroz of Wailua and Neto A. (Sophia) Quiroz of Alameda, California, grandchildren Cairo Hulali, Joao Eleu and Keifer Paoa Quiroz, all of Wailua, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by sister-in-law Annie Quiroz, and nephew Tommy Quiroz, niece Erica Quiroz Bala, and Matai Juliana and Micah Bala, all of Oceanside, California.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 27, at Poipu Beach Park at noon for a celebration of life.
Back in the day he loved bodysurfing at Brennecke’s Beach, playing mountain ball in the old Koloa Mountain Ball League, and fast-pitch baseball on Kauai and throughout the state of Hawaii.
The family suggests casual attire.

Lisa Leilani Brun
Lisa Leilani Brun, 52, of Kekaha, passed away on March 26, 2019 at Wilcox Medical Center. She was born on Nov. 14, 1966, in Waimea.
She was preceded in death by parents Vernon and Lorraine Brun Sr., brother Vernon Brun Jr., and grandparents John and Ewa Brun and Clarence and Helen Kauahi.
She is survived by companion Kurt Nakaya, sons Clifton Decosta, Damien Decosta Jr., daughter Nicole Decosta, hanai daughter Jamie Ayau, grandchildren Makana, Keighleah and Kalena Castillo, hanai grandchildren Mykah and Maile Brun, brothers Keith (Ola) Alejo and Arthur (Michelle) Brun, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 27, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai from 9 to 10:15 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
