What a novel idea! Kudos to Hale Opio on coordinating the youth health fair (Val Saiki had to pack up early since she was participating in the Wilcox Health diabetes expo Saturday) and talent show Friday night at Kukui Grove Center, where Kauai High School golf coach Alton Amimoto was having dinner with mom at Sones.

Wendy Kawaguchi of Sueoka Market (they still have the sweet li hing mui!) finally got some time to check out the Contractors Association of Kauai Home Expo (Kudos to the CAK ohana, Leland Kahawai, Diane Rapozo and the First Hawaiian Bank ohana on another great show!) that wrapped up Saturday (Joe Grace had his lunch wagon there, and Sandi Kato-Klutke was trying to figure out how much more the roast pork plate would cost over the fish plate he offered for Easter).
Kudos to PMG (it’s Pacific Mirror and Glass!) on getting Best In Show honors (what are we doing for the Rotary Club of Kauai’s Lights on Rice holiday parade?). How about that innovative desk at Nathan Wood Construction with Sarah Manuel (everybody likes to talk to pretty girls, Brian Kimura, who was parked at Wisteria Lane)? Or, that fancy flame at Hawaii Gas?
More kudos to the Rotary clubs on the island who hosted the 74th (!!!) Rotary Track Meet Thursday, where Kauai High School athlete Waileia Edwards topped coach Jamie Jimenez’s high jump record (coach Jamie said she needs to do it at the Kauai Interscholastic Federation championship meet to make it count!), and coach Dave Walker had starter duties so didn’t have time to chat.
