Mahalo to the Kauai Buddhist Council on a great Hanamatsuri (celebrating births is a pretty universal practice, and did you realize the familiar Happy Birthday makes a good meditation piece?) service Sunday. The Lihue Hongwanji people (Jolene Ogle said shes going) will be part of the Relay for Life (you can help by patronizing all the goodies from the participating teams) benefiting the American Cancer Society that will come up Saturday at the Hanapepe soccer fields.

Saturday is also the March for Babies (this used to be known as March of Dimes) that starts with registration from 6:30 a.m. at Lydgate Park with Juno Apalla (is Dr. Addison Bulosan going to be there?), and on the way to and from that event, Hawaii Foodbank, Kauai Branch is hosting a food collection day at six sites from the Princeville Center to Big Save, Waimea from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All that walking is good for you (find out more at the free diabetes awareness expo being presented at the Wilcox Hospital from 9 a.m. to noon where you can also get healthy snacks, and suggestions for a menu makeover for a healthier lifestyle — and, don’t forget prizes!), and Kukui Grove Center gets an early start on Easter with a new style egg hunt (nope, Golden Eggs are at the end) since they will have Earth Day during the Easter weekend.
Happy walking to all! Don’t forget, Monday is Tax Day!
