More than 300 students from Kauai high schools will watch the Hawaii Supreme Court hear oral arguments in a case at Kauai Community College’s Performing Arts Center starting 10 a.m. today.
Fifth Circuit Per Diem Judge Laurel Loo will be the emcee and moderator.
This event is part of the Judiciary’s “Courts in the Community” program, an outreach initiative that provides students an opportunity to learn more about the Judiciary’s role in government and its function in resolving disputes.
The students’ study culminates with a moot court activity facilitated by members of the Kauai Bar Association in which the students argue the pending case themselves.
