‘Shakespeare’ production is terrific
We totally enjoyed the Kauai Community Players’ production of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged),” being presented at the Puhi Theatrical Playhouse through April 14. KCP is having a terrific season this year, and this show is fabulous!
Congratulations to T.J. Hamilton, Bailey Hutton and Ross Martineau and all who were involved in presenting this comic “tour de force.”

Carol Ann Davis will be missed
I’m quite in denial that my long time friend and fellow artist Carol Ann Davis would die. I felt she would outlast us all. Ate better than I, disciplined herself rigorously, worked with an aggressive drive, was an artist in so many media, a positive-minded source.
And was a community activist in the realest sense. She was a master of causes. But not esoteric. Always the down-to-earth things that needed tending to. She made the South Shore her territory and was our careful watchdog.
In her own way, Carol Ann was quite generous. She unabashedly promoted others’ arts and talents, always making us feel good about our efforts. Giving fellow artists the encouragement that our work could matter.
She was my Weliweli neighbor, so our encounters were often. We go back to the early 70s, so we’ve more or less grown up together, grown old together. Our stop-in-the-middle-of-Kipuka Street conferences were a part of my neighborhood walk.
Goodbye Carol. We will all miss you. You leave behind a Kauai community richer for your presence.
