Dana ‘Kumu Hula Kaua‘i‘iki’ Olores
Dana Valeriano “Kumu Hula Kaua‘i‘iki” Olores, 56, of Kekaha, left this world on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019.
He is survived by parents Evelyn “Aunty Kanae” Yadao and Valeriano “Uncle Yano” Olores, sisters Valerie Santiago, Janet “Kaeo” Bradford and Evelyn “Pake” Riley, brothers Jonathan, Marvin, Jason and Gordon, and many nieces and nephews, along with numerous hanai sons and daughters.
A celebration of life service will held at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6.
The family suggests aloha attire.

Paz Compomaniz Valdez
Paz Compomaniz Valdez, 95, of Lihue, passed away at home on March 14, 2019. She was born in Koloa on Jan. 24, 1924, and retired from the foster grandparent program.
She was preceded in death by husband Francisco Valdez.
She is survived by children Priscilla Ewing, Franklin F. (Sue) Valdez, Dorrine (Patricio) Ramelb, Benito (Sharlene) Valdez, Orlando (Rosita) Valdez, Godwin Valdez and Olive Valdez, 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sister Mary Gushi, brothers Fausto Allosada and Concordio Allosada, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 4, at the Lawai Seventh Day Adventist Church, with visitation from 8:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m.

Cecilia Iloreta Ramirez
Cecilia Iloreta Ramirez, 78, passed away on Feb. 12, 2019, at her home in Pearl City. She worked at the Navy Exchange and retired from Ross.
She was preceded in death by father Manuel Iloreta, mother Juliet Matsuyoshi, hanai parents Jose and Sally Samiano, hanai siblings Marcial Samiano (brother-in-law), and hanai brother Dante Samiano.
She is survived by sister Emily Samiano, brother Clyde Iloreta, nephews the Rev. Marvin Samiano and Ron (Divine) Samiano, grandniece Isabella Samiano, grandnephew Brandon Samiano, hanai siblings Jose (Virginia) Samiano, Rudy Samiano, Carmen (Richard) Ubasa, Evelyn (Marcelino) Taroc and Melvin (Constance) Samiano, and numerous aunties, uncles and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, at 9:15 a.m. at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa on Oahu, followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Visitation and service will follow the next day, Saturday, April 6, at 9:30 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Mortuary Park Makai Chapel. Inurnment will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Fred Nares Quiroz
Fred Nares Quiroz, 70, of Kalaheo, passed away on March 1, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on April 27, 1948 in Oceanside, California, he worked in the construction industry and also as a security guard on Kauai before he retired.
He was preceded in death by parents Damaso (Mary) Quiroz, brother Charlie Quiroz, brother-in-law Guy Myslivy, and sister-in-law Janice Mareko.
He is survived by wife Cynthia “Cindy” Myslivy Quiroz of Kalaheo, sons Casildo J. (Natalie) Quiroz of Wailua and Neto A. (Sophia) Quiroz of Alameda, California, grandchildren Cairo Hulali, Joao Eleu, Keifer Paoa Quiroz, all of Wailua, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins, sister-in-law Annie Quiroz, nephew Tommy Quiroz, niece Erica Quiroz Bala, and Matai Juliana and Micah Bala, all of Oceanside, California.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 27, at Poipu Beach Park at noon for a celebration of life.
Back in the day he loved bodysurfing at Brennecke’s Beach, playing mountain ball in the old Koloa Mountain Ball League, and fast pitch softball on Kauai and throughout the state of Hawaii.
The family suggests casual attire.

Herbert ‘Kabule’ Holt Kauahi
Herbert “Kabule” Holt Kauahi, 79, of Kapaa, passed away on March 16, 2019, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. He was born in Waimea on Oct. 24, 1939, and dedicated his life working for Hawaiian sovereignty.
He was preceded in death by parents Herbert and Christobel Tita Kauahi.
He survived by brothers Owen (Shirley) Kauahi, Melvin (Ethel) Kauahi and Dennis (Diane) Kauahi, sisters Sandra (Jack) Kinsey, Hanakaulani (John) Montgomery and Christobel Kaliko Kealoha, hanai sons Manu Kahala and Briston Kahala, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall on Sunday, April 7, with visitation from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and services to follow.

Valentine ‘Kolo’ Lionel Adric III
Valentine “Kolo” Lionel Adric III, 47, passed away on March 1, 2019. He was born on Oahu on Feb. 13, 1972, and worked in construction.
He was preceded in death by father Valentine L. Adric Jr.
He is survived by mother Blossom Maile Adric, daughters Kahelelani Maka-Adric, Naia Maka-Adric, Kauihane Maka-Adric, Leinaala Maka-Adric and Kilakila Maka-Adric, siblings Valerie “Kaleio” (Jonathan “Beaver” Caminos, Ellen (William “Billy”) Hooikaika, Elvin (Kealoha) Adric, and Alika (Jaylene “Pi‘i”) Adric, hanai brother Kawika “Chooch” Kahaunaele, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 13, at Anahola Beach beginning at 11 a.m. Scattering of ashes will be held at a later date.
