Dwayne Daye Naumu of Lihue passed away on Feb. 12, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 27, 1947, on Kauai.
He was preceded in death by father Wallace Aukai Naumu.
He is survived by wife Ruth Naumu, mother Janet Naumu, children Tiffany Naumu, Trisha Naumu, Garrett Naumu and Krystal Naumu, brothers, Darryl (Caroline) Naumu and Glenn Naumu, grandchildren Brenden, Aleajah and Taytra Naumu, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A clebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 24, at Kauai Veteran’s Center in Lihue, with family visitation from 3 to 3:30 p.m., with services to follow. The family will be wearing his favorite color, red, and invites all to join them.

Janet Hinayo Toyama Naumu of Lihue passed away on March 17, 2019 at home. She was born on Nov. 13, 1927, in Kalaheo.
She was preceded in death by husband Wallace Aukai Naumu and son Dwayne Daye Naumu.
She is survived by sons Darryl (Caroline) Naumu and Glenn Naumu, daughter-in-law Ruth Naumu, grandchildren Tiffany, Trisha, Garrett and Krystal Naumu, and great-grandchildren Brenden, Aleajah and Taytra Naumu.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 12, at the Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue at 3 p.m.

Mildred Setsumi Yamauchi
Mildred Setsumi Yamauchi, 81, of Kalaheo, passed away on March 13, 2019, at her home.
Born on Dec. 2,1937, in Eleele, she was a retired postmaster.
She was preceded in death by father Katsumi Yamamoto, mother Helen Cudiamat, and brother Walter Yamamoto.
She is survived by son Kent (Esther) Yamauchi of Omao, daughters Debbie Watts of Kalaheo, Lisa (Kelly) Kaauwai of Anahola and Cathy Shibuya (Eric Agena) of Lihue, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother Melvin (Florence) Yamamoto of Kaneohe, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai from 2 to 3 p.m., with service to follow.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Yayoe M. Carvalho
Yayoe M. Carvalho, 96, of Kapaa, passed away on Feb. 17, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on Sept. 14, 1922, she was a retired accountant with Hawaiian Fruit Packers.
She is survived by son Gilbert (Lisa) Carvalho of Kapaa, daughter Michele (Andy) Maglinti of Kapaa, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Allen (Hilda) Michioka of Lihue, sister Margie Zaima of Lihue, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.

Alvin M. ‘Al’ Yamamoto

Alvin M. “Al” Yamamoto of Honolulu passed away on Feb. 3, 2019.
He was born on Kauai on Nov. 26, 1937.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a manager at the Bank of Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by parents Soichi and Kikue Yamamoto, and his sister Jean.
He is survived by wife Jean, son Gregg (Michelle), grandchildren Reyland and Aaron Yamamoto, sister Gloria (Ron) Matsuba, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunties.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 30, at Hosoi Mortuary in Honolulu.
Visitation with his family will begin at 9 a.m., with services to follow at 10 a.m.
