PUHI — Doors to the Aloha Aina Juice Cafe opened at 7 Friday morning at Hokulei Village in Puhi.
Misha Laney is owner of the juice bar that was blessed Wednesday afternoon by Nalani Taylor.
“The Puhi store is already closed,” Laney said.
The new facility is located across from Petco.
“We have a juice bar in Lihue,” said Stacie Chiba-Miguel, leasing agent for Hokulei Village. “With the salad bar and a variety of grab-and-go items, this is a different aspect for shoppers.”
Aloha Aina offers a salad bar featuring a lot of locally-grown products, bentos, wraps and other items on the juice bar menu, including acai bowls, on a grab-and-go, or fast-preparation basis.
“The concept is healthy and fast,” Laney said. “About 95 percent of what we use is locally produced, including the micro greens and other greens that come from the Waimea High School agriculture program,” she said.
“These products are raised by students in an alternative-learning program, and the proceeds from our purchase goes back into the program.”
Aloha Aina Juice Cafe is open Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. They are closed on Sundays.
