PUHI — A public meeting on the new proposed fees and rules for small boat harbors, offshore moorings, landings and wharfs will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School.
Hosted by the state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation, the meeting is a chance to comment on the new proposed rules, and is one of five scheduled across the state.
Proposed fee hikes include those for moorings, utilities, facility-usage, storage, ramp and commercial permits. More than 10,000 boaters were informed of the proposed increases and were asked for comments and feedback on the proposed rules.
