Mahalo to all those who took care of the Camper (Mrs. Abeshima, whose granddaughter Riana Abeshima plays for the Mililani Trojans, Tommy Rita for not one, but two days of Pepsi (no Cokes at the tournament), and Michael Koerte for making sure all the scores are flowing) during the Waimea Menehune Invitatational Softball Tournament that played out at two fields at Hanapepe Stadium.

Coach Lois Keamoai was checking with the parks grounds people ahead of the Walter Souza Invitational Baseball tournament that opens Thursday from 3:30 p.m. at Hanapepe Stadium, the Ron Martin Field at the Kapaa High School campus, and at Vidinha Stadium.
Kudos to Eric Nordmeier, Thomas Nizo, Puni Patrick and all those (!!!) many hands (Maj. Victor Aguilar said he’s got a big JROTC athletic competition coming up) who put together the week-long Waimea Town Celebration!
Kudos to Lauren Bundschuh of the Waimea Ho‘ola Lahui Dental and her entire crew for teaming with the Rotary Club of West Kauai to do the pronto pups (Dave Walker still has the touch, and on the West Kauai Lions tent, Basilio “Bunga” Fuertes was overseeing the smoke meat cooking. Col. (or is it General?) Toni Torres (the sample was real ono!) was with the West Kauai Methodist Church (Edwin Vea had to do Mailelani’s so Karin Panui could stay at home and sew) group that saw even Judge Randal Valenciano bring his family to help out. Even Mark Bonilla made the trek over the bridge to help with the Jamba Juice offerings at the West Kauai Business and Professional Association space.
