Six wrestlers from the Kauai Interscholastic Federation were still in contention late Wednesday to compete in the second day of the 2019 Texaco Wrestling Championships at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.
At the time of deadline Wednesday, Kapaa High School’s Danielle Santos (girls 127 pounds), Ini Marshall (girls 132 pounds), Jolette Miner-Ho (girls 138 pounds), Tessa Jensen (girls 145 pounds) and Bernie Lindsey (girls 184 pounds), and Waimea High’s Rogerland Dela Cruz (boys 285 pounds) were 1-1 and were still competing at the double-elimination tournament, said KIF tournament wrestling director Mac Pigott.
Full results were not available by press time.
Kauai High School’s Mason Stoll-Tolentino (boys 120 pounds) was 1-0 but exited the tournament early because of injury. Waimea’s Ian Sok (boys 126 pounds) also exited early because of injury. Sok was 0-1.
The tournament concludes today at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.
