Yukie-Lynn Nalani DeSilva
Yukie-Lynn Nalani DeSilva of Kapaa passed away at Queen’s Medical Center on Jan. 26, 2019, at the age of 48. Born on Dec. 7, 1970, she was an advertising sales assistant for The Garden Island newspaper and an active CrossFitter at Kauai CrossFit.
She was preceded in death by father Yukio Higashi, brothers-in-law Alan and Shannon DeSilva, and sister-in-law Lynette Meatoga.
She is survived by husband of 29 years Kevin DeSilva, daughter Moana (Chris) Baltazar, son Dustyn (Michaela Manago) DeSilva, hanai son Kalani Kahaunaele, mother Olinda Higashi, sisters Maile (Jonah) Cummings and Anolani (Kelo Rivera) Higashi, brothers Gordon (Danice) Higashi, Alvin (Deborah) Higashi, Dean (Mel) Higashi, Blaine Kaneholani and Kenny (Kana Kaohi) Meatoga, in-laws Wayne and Rita DeSilva, brother-in-law Travis (Lisa) DeSilva, and grandchildren Cijay, Cyris, Christyn and Chloey Baltazar.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, March 9, at Anahola Beach Park, with visitation at 10 a.m. and services to follow.

Benjamin Kapoiwa Kekui Kali Sr., 78, of Hanapepe, passed away on Jan. 31, 2019, at Tripler Army Medical Center on Oahu.
Born on Sept. 30, 1940, in Hanapepe, he was a caretaker of Hanapepe town and he served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by wife Susan Mae Pavao Kali, parents Robert and Lei Kali, brothers John, Abraham, Joseph and Richard Ham Young, and sisters Clara, Winifred, Rebecca Kali and Lei Niau.
He is survived by sons Benjamin (Josephine) Kali Jr. of Eleele, Joseph (Staci Ann) Kali of Hanapepe, Mitchell (Laurie) Kali of Hanapepe, Michael (Nicole) Kali of Lawai and Jeffrey Kali of Eleele, daughters Bernadette (Brian) Vea of Hanapepe, Carnation (Jun) Kali Kilar of Kekaha, 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, brother Robert (Kathleen) Kali Jr. of Hilo, sister Janet Ortiz of Hanapepe, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 2, at Hanapepe Stadium (next to the tennis courts) from 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hanapepe Hawaiian Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.
