PRINCEVILLE – Kauai police arrested wanted fugitive Richard Leibman on three bench warrants Thursday morning.
About 10:30 a.m., a resident of Aloali‘i Drive in Princeville called police when he noticed a man sleeping along the side of his house.
Responding officers recognized the man as the 41-year-old wanted fugitive and arrested him without incident.
Leibman was taken into custody and is being held at Police Cellblock in Lihue.
“We wish to thank the public for remaining vigilant in our search for Richard Leibman,” stated Acting Chief of Police Michael Contrades. “We appreciate the efforts of our officers, the community, and all involved in catching Leibman in hopes he will be held accountable for his crimes.”
Leibman had been wanted on three $50,000 bench warrants for revocation or modification of probation since October.
He will escape again. That’s what he does, because he’s good at it. This guy will not stop being a pain in the butt in our community until he enters the wrong home at the wrong time, and the startled homeowner blows his brains out.
Yup! I would expect him to escape on Sunday morning at dawn…corresponding with an earthquake felt statewide. “He is not here; He has …” ah, you know the rest.
