The 2019 season for the Hawaii Brewery Running Series includes two runs on Kauai in March.
The series of events is designed to showcase local breweries and neighborhoods throughout Hawaii while encouraging healthy activity.
The casual, 5K walk/run courses all start and end at local breweries. Participants enjoy local libations and leave with fun merchandise to commemorate their finish-line victory. Each event offers different features including health tips, food trucks and live music.
The registration fee includes a craft beer, a choice of a collector’s swag item, raffle entry, giveaways and goodies from community partners and sponsors.
“We do this for the love of beer, the love of running, and the love of our community,” said Brewery Running Series co-founder, Nate Herrington. “With our growing number of participants (the series has doubled in size every year since its 2012 inception), we have a great platform to showcase local groups who deserve some attention. We support their efforts and want to encourage more locals to engage. We invite our partners to share their story at our events to initiate a connection with a new audience. And it works.”
Runs are set for 11 a.m. March 9 at Kauai Beer Company in Lihue and 10 a.m. March 10 at Kauai Island Brewery, Port Allen.
The Hawaii Brewery Running Series will be donating to nonprofits such as the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, Kauai Cares and Kauai Humane Society.
The Hawaii Brewery Running Series will also be partnering with organizations such as Kauai Coffee and Ha Coffee Bar.
Registration is $30 for run and beer, $40 will get you a shirt, too, and if you pay $100, the entire entry fee will be donated to a nonprofit.
