Happy birthday to Jamilee Jimenez (she’s all about Mu‘u Monday, or Aloha Friday, or anything mu‘umu‘u!), who was up early after a birthday paina (yep, she had a mu‘u on) Saturday at the Lihue United Church of Christ Sweets & Sweet Things, where everything was coming up Valentine’s Day (it’s Thursday, people!). You can check out Ann Yamamoto (she hangs outside Deja Vu on Thursdays for some last-minute goodies while waiting on lunch at Genki Sushi.

Mahalo for the flying saucer that Marlena Bunao (don’t you miss those Kmart malasadas?) described as a “manwich,” and Nina Saraos (no chicken dance here) was doing the music box entertainment while Asaka Herman of the Boys & Girls Club Lihue Clubhouse anchored the face-painting.
Meanwhile, Amy Chun and Melissa McFerrin-Warrack were going crazy (did Bill Spitz say it was Laurie Ho’s birthday?) at the Kauai Community Market, where Melissa said there was a television crew doing some production work (is that why everyone was nearly sold out and Lyndsey Haraguchi-Nakayama was working the Hanalei Taro food truck?) with one of the larger crowds to visit the Saturday market…nope, no Year of the Pig roast pork loco moco (what’s the next special, Chef Ferdinand Dosono of Kauai Kim Chee?) to go along with driving the electric cars.
Don’t forget — Valentine’s Day is Thursday!
