POIPU — Salt Pond Beach Park reopened to swimming Friday, after being closed since Tuesday due to continued reports of box jellyfish. Poipu Beach Park, which was also closed to swimming Tuesday, reopened Thursday.

Officials also had advised no swimming at all Kekaha beaches Monday and into Tuesday afternoon due to shark sightings. The advisory ended late Tuesday afternoon.
On Monday, lifeguards reported that three tiger sharks, roughly between 12-feet and 15-feet, were sighted off shore near Kekaha Beach and popular surf areas known as Davidsons and Targets.
