HANALEI — Learn about flooding impacts and help brainstorm ideas for resilience on Kauai’s North Shore in three upcoming meetings hosted by the Hanalei Watershed Hui, set for Jan. 23, 25 and 26.
The disaster workshops will include a presentation of “da brief results” of the 2018 floods and maps of the impacts and changes that resulted. It will also include a disaster response review, an update to the Hanalei to Haena Disaster Resilience Plan, prioritization of needed trainings and next steps.
• The Hanalei workshop will be Jan. 23, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hale Halawai Ohana o Hanalei.
• The Waipa workshop will be Jan. 25, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hale Keanolani.
• The Wainiha/Haena workshop will be Jan. 26.
The location and time is still being finalized for the Wainiha/Haena workshop, according to the Hanalei Watershed Hui.
