PUHI — “We decided that we don’t want to do Secret Santa, or gifts for each other,” said Stacy Waikoloa, a member of the Leadership Kauai class. “Instead, we pooled the money we would have spent on gifts for each other and bought food to donate to a food bank.”
Waikoloa was part of the class who dropped off about 200 pounds of food, including many from the highly-desired list from the Hawaii Foodbank, Kauai Branch.
“We pretty much have everything we need,” said Kaikoloa. “This way, we figured we could help other people who need the food.”
Accepting the food for the Hawaii Foodbank, Kauai Branch Wes Perreira said a lot of these donations add up to make a difference in how the food bank can provide service for those who need the food.
“Every bit helps,” Perreira said. “Merry Christmas!”
