Kudos to Melissia Sugai, Nalani Brun and the organizers of the Kauai Made Holly Jolly Holiday Fair that attracted a large crowd (who said there was no parking?) to the front parking lot of the former Big Kmart store. Elsie Bayot of the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital activities section was all over the place, helping at the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital Christmas party for its residents, escorting seven of the KVMH residents to the Kauai Shinbuyo Kai Japanese dance presentation in honor of Aiko Nakaya at Kukui Grove Center (see, there was activity going on there, too!), and getting up early to set up the tent reserving space for the KVMH residents to view the Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade. When do we rest?

Santa Phil Worwa is getting into the busiest week of the year, starting with the Holly Jolly event where lots of shoppers stopped to get photos of his Santa Jeep before the man in red zipped off to The Shops at Kukuiula for the Keiki Holiday Bash that was one of the fund (food) raisers for the Kauai Independent Food Bank. He gets to visit the Kauai Community Market Saturday before rushing back to the North Pole for the Christmas deliveries. Mary Lardizabal and the Kapaa Middle School choir and ukulele band must’ve copied schedules because they had a similar calendar.
Kudos, too, to Esther Estes, Hua Duncan (Dave said he’s getting a shirt that says “I’m Hua’s husband!”), Dave Walker, Eric Nordmeier and all the bodies that celebrated the annual Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade!
