POIPU — The National Tropical Botanical Garden will host its 15th annual Holiday Craft Fair today at the NTBG South Shore Visitors Center.
From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., this free community event will feature a plant sale, a craft fair with local gifts and crafts perfect for holiday shopping, games and a bounce house for keiki, food trucks and live music throughout the day. In celebration of the holiday season NTBG will be offering free admission to McBryde Garden and discounted Allerton tours all day.
The day long craft fair will showcase a number of local craft vendors selling handcrafted gift items, jewelry, art, ornaments, pet items, clothing, soaps and much more. The plant sale will feature a variety of plants, from toe-high ground covers to trees that can grow to 30 meters in height. As always, native favorites like the breadfruit tree (ulu) will also be available.
Food trucks will be on hand.
Plus, those 21 and over can enjoy the beer and wine garden. Entertainment will include contemporary Hawaiian music by John Kepa Mahi, Latin music by Gypsy Spice, and Roundhouse Ramblers playing bluegrass.
Keiki will love the games and bounce house. Plus, guests can explore McBryde Garden for free and experience Allerton Garden tours at discounted rates.
“Our Holiday Craft Fairs have become a favorite tradition for locals and visitors alike to get their holiday shopping done all in one place and enjoy a great day at the gardens with friends and family,” said Tobias Koehler, director of South Shore Gardens.
“We love bringing the community together to enjoy the outdoors, support local vendors and spread a love for plants.”
For those wanting to give back, donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted for the Kauai Branch of the Hawaii Foodbank.
