Credit union providing great service
The newly named “Gather Federal Credit Union” is confusing to non-insiders of plantation life. “Kauai Community Federal Credit Union” title encompassed all the necessary information, i.e., you are eligible to join when you are a member of the community. I believe that credit unions are set up for specific populations. “Gather” is nondescriptive as to what describes an eligible, potential member. A more encompassing name would be “Gather Community Federal Credit Union.”
I sincerely hope you agree to enlightening potential members with this expanded “Gather Community.”
Mahalo for your great service during my 20-year membership.

having no knowledge of Hawaiian plantation life…only Southern slave plantations…what exactly is a ‘gather’?
It is not just for the plantation employees. Those days are over. It is for all kinds of employees. And I doubt they have one in Kekaha anymore. It is all in Lihue. Waimea has one.
As members, they never gave us a clue of the COST of the name change. I know it personally cost me a lot of valuable time to change a lot of financial information and correspondence.
