HONOLULU — Waimea High School’s varsity girls volleyball team finished in fourth place of the 2018 New City Nissan Girls Volleyball Championships–Division II state tournament.
In the third place game Saturday afternoon at Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Waimea lost to Damien of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, 2-0 — 25-9, 25-17.
Waimea concludes its season with a 13-3 overall record, going 11-1 in the Kauai Interscholastic Federation season en route to win the school’s second straight varsity girls volleyball championship and 2-2 at the state tournament.
In the semifinals on Friday night, Waimea lost to Sacred Hearts Academy of the ILH in straight sets — 25-22, 25-12, 25-16.
