Pu‘uopae Bridge in Wailua Homesteads will be temporarily closed starting Monday through Friday in preparation for construction of the new Pu‘uopae Bridge. A full closure of the bridge will begin Oct. 22 and is estimated to last through June, 2019.
Pu‘uopae Bridge in Wailua Homesteads will be temporarily closed starting Monday through Friday in preparation for construction of the new Pu‘uopae Bridge. A full closure of the bridge will begin Oct. 22 and is estimated to last through June, 2019.
Located by the intersection of Kipapa Road and Pu‘uopae Road, the bridge will be temporarily closed to allow a safe working environment as crews will install temporary waterline supports and additional supports on the bridge in preparation for demolition.
Full closure of the bridge will allow crews to remove the existing bridge deck, relocate the county Department of Water waterline, and construct the new Pu‘uopae Bridge — which is expected to be in service sometime around June 2019.
