Happy birthday, Waileia Edwards, who got solid support from her Kauai High School volleyball team Saturday night. The team was so generous in their support of Waileia’s birthday, they even sent out birthday cake to the parking lot security corps.

Kudos to Coach Kehau Regidor and her staff on leading the group which was definitely in the flow of the week-long homecoming activities.
Homecoming brought out Jaycie Apilado to check out dad Jason Apilado on the football field like the days when dad coached Pop Warner football.
Kelvin Moniz was doing football officiating, but had to postpone the Kauai Independent Food Bank’s big collection day because of the rain Saturday morning. The weather (even Melinda Morey, who is doing a mural at Kukui Grove Center, is slipping backwards) is doing some crazy stuff with scheduling community events, so stay tuned.
OK, this is the big week — two Breast Cancer Awareness events starting with the Kauai County Committee on the Status of Women doing their walk Wednesday at lunchtime (11:30 a.m. start), and Josie Pablo and the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital residents (Elsie Bayot said she’s planning on having some Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital residents participating as well) doing their cancer walk Friday morning starting at 9 a.m. on Ke Ala Hele Makalae near the Kapaa Neighborhood Center.
