“September is Library Card Month,” said Lani Kawahara, the Kapaa Public Library manager. “Everyone needs a library card.”
Alice Parker had her “cane crew” in attendance, and Bev Montel whipped up a batch of oatmeal raisin cookies (three for a dollar donation is unheard-of good!).
Children’s poet Joy Frelinger said she had to be there because of all the young people who flowed through the children’s books area, and what was that title that is on the bestseller list — did it sell, Lani?
Meanwhile, Florence’s mom, Bryna Storch, was manning the Lanipo Farms stand at the Kauai Community Market in the Kauai Community College parking lot where Jan Woo said Barkaroo Bakery is having a doggie bag event Saturday in honor of National Dog Day (the actual day’s event being postponed due to the inclement weather).
Anya Love took time out of shopping to announce the Aloha Kauai Yoga and Peace Festival coming up Sept. 28 through 30 … stay tuned for more details.
