Kudos to Mark Perriello and his Kauai Chamber of Commerce ohana (the third quarter general membership meeting is coming up Tuesday at the Smith’s Tropical Paradise), and all the sponsors on a great political forum featuring mayoral candidates Derek Kawakami and Mel Rapozo. The difficult part of having the debate in the auditorium of the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihue (the AC is great in the post-tropical-storm humidity!) is that Anna Baudouin had a hard time getting photos while manning the registration desk (yes, it was free!).

Janice Bond was at both the political forum registering voters and got up early Friday to help AARP at the Elder Law Day event presented by the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii and the county’s Agency on Elderly Affairs, also at the convention hall.
Mahalo to Sarah Thompson for the great post-debate photo op, and kudos to Charlie Iona on doing a great job moderating the debate.
OK, time to go check out the Kauai All Girls Rodeo Association event at CJM Country Stables in Poipu and the Interfaith Roundtable’s peace event at Lydgate Beach Park.
