A debate between Kauai mayor candidates Mel Rapozo and Derek Kawakami is scheduled at 6 tonight at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
It is being put on by the Kauai Chamber of Commerce and it is free.
Organizers said it is a debate format, rather than question and answer.
The general election is Nov. 6. Rapozo and Kawakami, both Kauai County Council members, are seeking to succeed Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr., who will be termed out after 10 years .
Do they know the job? What’s the reason for the federal budget? State budget.
State level. I realize county government is deficient. They have David Ige to back them up.
Numbers are lower. But I’d say deficient in everything they do. County government. Really.
