LIHUE — The Kauai Junior Golf Association will host its second annual golf fundraiser Oct. 21 at the Ocean Course at Hokuala.
The fundraiser will aid KJGA in developing its junior golfers, including providing free golf lessons, organizing clinics and sessions with PGA professionals at little to no cost, and assisting in higher education pursuits with scholarships to qualified junior golfers.
“We really can’t do this without the community and the help from (parents of our members), our board of directors, the golf courses and their pros,” said Stephanie Shinno, KJGA director of programs and services. “It truly is a team effort, and with the community’s help we can really keep golf alive and teach our keiki the same values we all learned as former junior golfers.”
The cost is $125 per player or $250 per two-person teams. Fees cover carts, green fees, tee prizes, luncheon and two raffle tickets per player.
Handicaps are maximum 27 for men and 36 for women.
The deadline to register is Oct. 14. Space is limited, so early sign up is encouraged.
